TY - GEN N2 - The main focus of this research was to analyse the resistance and wake patterns of six industry-standard bow designs. To carry out the analysis of resistance and wake patterns, Maxsurf Modeller and Resistance were used. Six examples of bow design types currently in use were modelled. The investigation showed that X-Bow vessels produce almost half the amount of resistance as other common bow types. This most efficient bow design is then scrutinised for its possible use in military applications.
